About Us

Eulipions, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that fosters, promotes, and preserves artistic expression with an emphasis on Colorado’s African-American heritage and lifestyles.

Eulipions Theater Group co-founded by Jo Bunton Keel and Jimmy Walker was the predecessor to Eulipions, Inc. Using their combined talent, they formed Studio E. Which became Eulipions Theater Group in 1982. The name Eulipions comes from a term coined by musician Rahsaan Rolland Kirk meaning “Author of Love”.

In November 2000, Eulipions, Inc. sold the historic El Jebel Shrine Temple, their home since 1995, and used the funds to establish The Eulipions Fund at The Denver Foundation. Earnings from the fund are used to provide grants to generate, assist, increase, and encourage the performing arts in Colorado’s African American Communities.
